Only Five More Days to Submit YouTube Questions About Ed!

I'm headed back to Colorado to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with my family. I'll be back in Washington next week, and am looking forward to our upcoming ED in '08 campaign events in Iowa and New Hampshire.

I'm hopeful that the growing momentum around the issue of education will continue in the next CNN/YouTube debate on November 28th - you'll remember that for the last CNN/YouTube debate education was the issue about which the highest number of questions was submitted. It would be great to see that happen again, further illustrating for the candidates just how serious Americans are about education reform.


If you haven't already submitted an education question for the candidates, you still have five more days to post one before CNN starts to select which questions will be aired during the debate.


The key is to add a personal touch, but still make a substantive question so the candidates can't just dodge the question or repeat their same old talking points. We are looking to challenge the presidential hopefuls to offer detailed solutions about how they plan to be leaders for America's schools.


All you have to do is write a question, film yourself asking it, and then post the video to YouTube by Nov. 25th. It's easy!


A few tips...

• Be original -- choose your own approach.

• Be personal -- your perspective is important.

• Choose your focus -- you can address one or all of the candidates.

• Keep it quick -- your question should be less than 30 seconds (and, in the language of your choice).

• Make it look good -- speak loudly and keep that camera steady.

• Provide context -- in your question or video description, include your name & home town.
